Company to Highlight Work to Promote Wellness in Hospitals and Communities

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) announced today that it will be the Presenting Sponsor for the second annual Health Matters: Activating Wellness in Every Generation conference on January 15, 2013.

At the conference, hospital and corporate leaders from Tenet will join more than 400 stakeholders from health care, public policy, business, education, individual wellness and sports to identify strategies to improve individual healthy lifestyles in the home, the community and the work place.

Kelvin Baggett, M.D., Tenet’s senior vice president and chief medical officer, will open the conference and participate in a panel about health transformation in America. Carolyn Caldwell, CEO of Tenet’s Desert Regional Medical Center, will lead a discussion with Coachella Valley community leaders about building healthy communities highlighting the work done in collaboration with the Clinton Foundation since the inaugural Health Matters Conference in 2012. Carolyn Jackson, CEO of Tenet’s St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, will join a panel on mental health and addiction, to discuss the hospital’s Center for the Urban Child, a primary care initiative that seeks to decrease health disparities by addressing the underlying causes while creating new models for clinical care and improving access.

The entire conference will be webcast live at www.clintonfoundation.org/healthmatters2013 beginning with the welcome from Dr. Baggett at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). Ms. Caldwell will moderate the Building Healthy Communities panel at 1:15 p.m. PST and Ms. Jackson will be featured on the Mental Health and Addictions Panel at 2:45 p.m. PST.
