Daniel Cancelmi serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Tenet Healthcare. In this role, Cancelmi is responsible for overseeing finance, investor relations, accounting, and related functions for the enterprise.
Previously, Cancelmi served as Tenet’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. He also formerly served as senior vice president and controller and principal accounting officer. In these roles, he was responsible for company-wide accounting practices and policies, SEC financial reporting, accounts payable, governmental reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid programs, payroll, risk management finance, capital and property functions.
Cancelmi joined Tenet as CFO of Hahnemann University Hospital, a former Tenet hospital in Philadelphia. In 1999, he transitioned to Tenet’s corporate office in Dallas and served in a variety of finance positions, including vice president and assistant controller.
Cancelmi began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked for more than nine years in various positions in Pittsburgh and New York City, including in the company’s national accounting and SEC unit.
Cancelmi earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Florida and Texas. He is also a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
