Keith Pitts, Vice Chairman

Keith Pitts serves as a vice chairman of Tenet, a position he has held since 2013. In this role, he oversees Tenet’s partnership and corporate development strategies.

Pitts joined Tenet from Vanguard Health Systems, where he also served as vice chairman. Prior to joining Vanguard, he served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Mariner Post-Acute Network, a post-acute services group that operated nursing homes, long-term acute-care hospitals, sub-acute, assisted living facilities and institutional pharmacies.

In addition, he served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer for OrNda HealthCorp, a predecessor of Tenet. Prior to joining OrNda in 1992, he was a consultant to healthcare organizations, including serving as a partner in Ernst & Young’s healthcare consulting practice.

Pitts is a certified public accountant (CPA) and earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Florida. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer at a variety of healthcare industry gatherings for organizations across the country.

Pitts served three terms as chairman of the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), the industry association that represents investor-owned hospitals. He has been on the boards of several public companies and private companies over his career.
